Question 41

What about aliens and UFOs?

More and more people are talking about aliens, Christians included. The Bible doesn’t mention little green men from another planet, but it says a lot about beings from the sky who deceive people. Ashley Hays, a Christian with 156,000 subscribers, laid it out in “Incoming Staged Alien Invasion”.

They’re not from another planet

Scripture calls Satan “the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience” (Ephesians 2:2). Our fight is “against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places” (Ephesians 6:12). And they don’t come looking evil: “Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light” (2 Corinthians 11:14).

Ashley says every entity the world is about to see, whatever role it plays, is from Satan’s camp, and some of them know how to masquerade as angels of light. One of the top comments put it short: “The aliens are actually fallen angels.” Another spelled it a-LIE-ns.

It’s the same lie as the Garden

Ashley’s main point is that Satan is taking the world back to Eden to get us to bite the apple again and believe the exact same lie: “ye shall be as gods” (Genesis 3:5). If people believe higher beings came down to save us, they’ll take the next step and believe they can become like them. That’s the lie in Aren’t we all God?.

She also warns that it’s being made okay to accept aliens as a Christian, by propping up Christians who talk about their faith and about aliens in the same breath.

A great deception is coming

The Bible says the end will come with signs in the sky and lies that look like miracles:

  • “Fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven” (Luke 21:11).

  • “There shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect” (Matthew 24:24).

  • The beast “maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles” (Revelation 13:13-14).

  • Once the restrainer “be taken out of the way,” the Wicked one comes “after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders... And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie” (2 Thessalonians 2:7-11).

Ashley believes that once the rapture of the church takes place, a staged alien invasion is how the world will explain away the millions of missing believers, with real chaos, real destruction and real death. She calls it good cop, bad cop: the world rises up against the “bad cop” system, then welcomes a “good cop” savior, who is the man of sin, the son of perdition, the antichrist. She points out that leaders have already floated the idea of the world uniting against aliens. Ronald Reagan said it at the United Nations in 1987, and Bill Clinton said it on Jimmy Kimmel’s show in 2014.

That timeline is her view. What Scripture does say for sure is that the deception will come with signs from heaven, and that people who “received not the love of the truth” will fall for it.

As it was in the days of Noah

Pastor Tim Henderson says it plainly in “Aliens Among Us Pointing to the Rapture of the Church”: they are not UFOs, UAPs and aliens the way the world defines them. They are spiritual beings, and the Bible tells us what they are.

It starts in Genesis 6. “The sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose... There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown” (Genesis 6:2, 4). The “sons of God” there are fallen angels. That’s what the phrase means elsewhere in the Old Testament: “the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them” (Job 1:6). Their children were the giants, the Nephilim.

The New Testament talks about those angels too. “The angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness” (Jude 6). And Peter puts them right next to the flood: “God spared not the angels that sinned... And spared not the old world, but saved Noah” (2 Peter 2:4-5). Noah “was a just man and perfect in his generations” (Genesis 6:9). Tim’s point is that Noah’s line hadn’t been corrupted by them. The book of Enoch tells the longer story of 200 fallen angels coming down at Mount Hermon. Tim is careful to say it isn’t Scripture, though Jude quotes it (Jude 14). He says the half-god, half-man stories of Greek mythology come from the same event.

And Jesus said the end would look the same: “as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be” (Matthew 24:37). Tim believes that’s what we’re watching now. The things people call aliens are from the demonic realm, fallen principalities, back for the end like they were before the flood.

“It’s not conspiracy theory anymore”

Tim plays a Fox News segment where Jesse Watters interviews Missouri congressman Eric Burlison, who says he and other members of Congress sat in a room and watched 52 UAP videos that haven’t been made public. Burlison calls himself a skeptic, but he points to a government document where officials reported an orange orb releasing other red orbs over a military base. Tim’s take: millions now, including government and military leaders, have seen these things, and it’s no longer conspiracy theory.

What they’ll say after the rapture

Tim’s guess, and he says it’s his own: they’ll present these beings as more intelligent, maybe our ancestors or creators, here to help us. When the church is caught up, he believes they’ll have to come up with a reason for millions of missing believers. That fits Ashley Hays’ view earlier in this article. One commenter said it straight: “I believe that when we are raptured those left behind will believe we were abducted by aliens.” Tim also warns that some kind of contact might come before the rapture, and says: don’t be duped by that.

You have authority over them

Tim ends on this: if you are born again, you have authority over Satan and the entire demonic realm. Jesus said, “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you” (Luke 10:19). “Greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world” (1 John 4:4).

And one comment flipped the whole thing: “We are the aliens because this is not our home.” Peter called us “strangers and pilgrims” (1 Peter 2:11).

Why believe in aliens and not God?

One commenter asked the question a lot of us have: “WHY do people find it so much easier to believe in all these (aliens, demons) but they wont believe in a loving God and Savior?” Paul answered it 2,000 years ago. People who don’t love the truth end up believing “a lie.”

What to do with this

Don’t be afraid, and don’t get lost in the theories. Jesus said, “as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man” (Luke 17:26). Ashley ends the same way the Bible does: put your faith in what Christ did for you “before it is too late.”

The comments were full of people saying they’re tired of this world and ready to go home. One man wrote that he’s almost five years clean from a lifelong cocaine addiction and waiting on the Lord. That’s the right heart: “Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus” (Revelation 22:20).

Say it like this

“The Bible never talks about aliens from other planets. It talks about fallen angels, the ‘prince of the power of the air,’ who can look like ‘an angel of light.’ And it says the end will come with ‘great signs from heaven’ and ‘lying wonders’ to deceive people. If something comes out of the sky saying it’s here to save us, it’s the same lie as the Garden. There’s only one Savior, and His name is Jesus.”
